Scholarship

The Choctaw Detachment awards a yearly scholarship to a child or grandchild of an active member of the Choctaw Detachment or of an active duty Marine or Marine Reservist who is stationed at the AFRC in Baton Rouge. (See qulifications and Procedures below)

Qualifications

To be qualified for this scholarship the applicant must:

be the child or grandchild of an active member of the Choctaw Detachment (each member my sponsor 2 candidates) or of an active duty Marine or Marine Reservist who is stationed at the AFRCi n Baton Rouge
be active in activites that demonstrate leadership
be a high school senior or undergraduate college student with an overall GPA of 3.0

Procedure

Obtain an application packet from sponsor

Fill in the require forms (typewritten) with no extra pages or writing on the back of pages

provide a copy of the most current school transcript

include 2 letters of recommendation with the source being one of the following: Principle, Superintedent, Councelor, Instructor, Minister/Priest, Church Youth Advisor or Employeer

Make sure sponsor fills out and signs the sponsor section

Sign and Date Application

Mail to address below to ensure receipt by 31 January
