D.o.D. CERTIFICATE
At the Feb. Board meeting we discussed the ongoing effort to get all our members listed with the D.O.D. for
getting the certificate of appreciation sent out to them. (This effort pertains only to those who have not
already received their certificate.) The D.o.D. has appointed a volunteer “Ambassador” to organize and head
up this effort,. His name is Charles Koppelman. If you or someone you know is a Korean War Veteran who
has not received a certificate of recognition you may send a completed application (shown below) to Mr.
Koppelman requesting same. Note: you must have served during the time of hostilities (June 25, 1950 to July
27, 1953). Mr. Koppelman’s letter, in part, reads as follows.
If you are a Korean War Veteran (June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953) interested in being recognized
with an official Certificate of Appreciation sent to you by the Department of Defense and signed
by Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta you may email me at KWV148@yahoo.com or phone
